Confessions of an Air Sign

We all have those friends (or foes) with sharp wits and easy-going personalities that seem to go with the wind. These friendly socialites love stimulating conversation as much as they love their alone time.

Aquarius, Libra, Gemini.

These three signs, all air, have different planetary ruler ships. Your playful Gemini friend is ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication. Libra, Venus – the planet of love and beauty. And although Aquarius is the water-bearer, your visionary colleague is still very much an air sign. Dually ruled by Saturn and Uranus, they represent individuality, self-expression, perseverance and time.

As an Aquarius, I’d like to announce my bias. This information can be found anywhere, and I do my best not to speak with opinion.

With six Saturnian placements, five being Aquarius, it is fair to say that I have a trustworthy perspective on what it means to carry the ever-flowing vase. The common trope with this sign is that we see ourselves as different and are perpetually misunderstood, dissociative weirdos from space.

It is interesting to imagine how, if we weren’t percieved in astro-media from lazy astrologers as aliens and weirdos, we probably would not have the feeling of being so different. Huh. Instead of us being another sign to learn from and understand, we become a lost cause.

But fear not for the Aquarius in your life, reader!

We are resilient and deeply value community and the pursuit of knowledge. Typically very tolerant individuals, they often stand up for the underdog and enjoy being multidisciplinary within their field – particularly in the arts. And although Aquarius are known moreso for being tech obsessed, I like to remind them of Saturn’s strong hold on this particular air sign: reject modernity, embrace tradition.
