La Primavera: Spring, rebirth, renaissance

La Primavera is the perfect time to take inventory! Let go of things that don’t align with your natural path. Whether that be a pair of jeans you never wear, cheap trends that didn’t stand the test of time, or even those limiting beliefs you still hold onto.

The sense of rebirth and rejuvenation that comes with a new season invites us to check in with our internal “branding.” Tidying your closet (and your mind) is a great way to honor who we are and what we stand for. 

Building a capsule wardrobe allows for sensible styling, creating a multitude of ensembles with basics and statement pieces. Understanding your personal color-palate can be a fun catalyst for discovering your own unique style. Focusing on natural fibers, buying second-hand, and donating/selling unwanted garments also acts as a reminder to love the earth and give preloved pieces a new home. We also love supporting small businesses here!

How do I start?

My journey began with jeans. My trusted denim that I owned for years became the backbone of my wardrobe – and set the bar for how I should feel in my clothes. I narrowed it down from there, keeping my favorite shirts to wear with jeans. I have never felt the need to sacrifice comfort for style when I can easily have both (and I sort of have a thing for versatile shirts.) Then, I was able to cultivate a palate of colors that I loved and that didn’t wash me out, the colors had to feel like.. me. Which also made down-sizing a breeze!

This was pretty much how it started for me.

• Black denim, clean cut, simple silhouette (great for work or play)
• Blue denim, can be raw edged or cropped (casual, day or night)
• Textured pants, to spice things up (leather, linen, embroidery)
• Neutral toned skirts, length of choice (comfy, yet elevated)
• White tees / tanks (layering staples + bonus for vintage graphics)
• Lightweight layers: button down tops, blouses (can also be worn alone)
• Cozy layers: lightweight cardigan/bolero, neutral pullover, fun print
• Statement jacket (ready to elevate any simple look, match with shoes)
• Simple jacket (neutral color to match anything in your closet)
• Statement dress (we all need a feel-good dress)
• Simple dress (moreso used for comfort)

Intention is energy! Welcome the sunshine by giving thanks to all your old clothes, and honoring them by selling or donating, rather than throwing them away into a landfill. Let go of wasteful habits and negative mindsets this season, and don’t forget to support your local thrift!
